Seven Magic Mountains

One of our newer attractions, the Seven Magic Mountains, opened May 11, 2016 as an art installation by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone. The stacked and painted boulders stand over 30 feet tall and are visible to vehicles on the nearby Interstate 15 - and boy, do they stand out! Similar to the Eiffel Tower, this project was originally intended to be a short term attraction (two years, to be exact), but Rondinone and the producers of the artwork are looking to extend its stay. Even so, the Mountains have attracted about 1,000 visitors a day in these two years, drawing in vacationers and locals alike to pose in front of these colorful additions to the Mojave Desert. With seven totems ranging from 30 to 35 feet tall, comprised of locally sourced and painted boulders, Rondinone added a unique piece to the art world and the Ivanpah Valley. For more information on the Mountains, visit and even read up on the artist himself!
